Deborah Alysoun

Deborah Alysoun is a Pacific Northwest artist enchanted with the wild unpredictability of pit firing.  In this ancient process, no two pots ever come out alike.  Each one takes on unique patterns from the smoke of the fire and fumes created by minerals and organic substances added to the flames - copper, iron, seaweed, banana peels, coffee grounds, corn husks, and dozens of other surprising things that cause chemical reactions in the fire.

Deborah lives in Oregon City, OR and joined Mossy Creek in 2022.
