About Mossy Creek

In March of 2001 Dan and Susan Wheeler were privileged to begin their journey as owners and resident artists at Mossy Creek Pottery. Coming from the beautiful Willamette Valley an hour away to the scenic central Oregon coast was just the beginning.About Mossy Creek Pottery Living on six acres adjacent to the Siletz Bay Wildlife Refuge they both enjoy running the business and creating their various works. Dan, an experienced potter has found a wonderful niche for his beautiful porcelain work both functional and decorative. Susan enjoys showing her fused glass pieces among the over 40 talented clay artists featured at Mossy Creek. Both Dan and Susan are combining their artistic work to bring together what they call a ‘marriage of clay and glass’. Susan’s glass pieces reflect that work and it’s been very successful. As well as bringing their art work together, Dan and Susan share between them five children and four grandchildren. Besides enjoying being with the family, Dan and Susan take pleasure in being outdoors, fishing, whale watching and walking on the beach. Mossy Creek Pottery has enjoyed 32 years of history with only three owners. Dan and Susan are appreciative for the vast numbers of people who come every year to enjoy the variety of great handmade pottery and wonderful surroundings.
